Rock Cycle
The rock cycle image is above click the button to know more! It shows how each one of the three rocks would be formed with it's colorful arrows with a key. Different types of rocks form by different ways like magma cooling down into igneous rock. The two other types of rocks are sedimentary rock and
metamorphic rock. These are the three types of rocks that are the main ones in the world.
metamorphic rock. These are the three types of rocks that are the main ones in the world.
Igneous Rock
This is an igneous rock below from one of the three types of rocks on the Earth. It was formed from either a volcano eruption or cooling magma underneath the Earth's surface. If an igneous rock is formed by lava erupting from a volcano, it is a extrusive rock. This type of igneous rock has a fine-grained texture. If an igneous rock is formed from cooling magma underneath the Earth's surface, it's called a intrusive rock and it has a coarse-grained texture. There are various types of igneous rock, one type is a Rhyolite igneous rock with a fine-grain texture.
Sedimentary Rock
This is one kind of sedimentary rock that could either be a clastic rock, organic rock. This rock is formed by a series of stages. First sediment goes through erosion, then deposition, next compaction, and finally put together by cementation. A clastic sedimentary rock is formed by rock fragments squeezing together. A organic sedimentary rock is formed by left overs of plants and animals that are deposited in thick layers. A chemical sedimentary rock is formed by minerals that dissolve and are in a solution of crystallizing.
Metamorphic Rock
This an metamorphic rock. Any type of rock can form into it by heat and pressure underneath the Earth's surface. Geologists can easily identify metamorphic rocks by the arrangement of grains in the rock. There are also many types of metamorphic rock, one type of metamorphic rock is a Quartzite rock. One fun fact about metamorphic is that the Taj Mahal is made out of marble. The marble that made the entire palace was originally limestone. When it was subjected to heat and pressure, it formed into a fine-grain textured marble rock.
