The Rock Cycle
Today we will learn about the rock cycle. The three types of rock are IGNEOUS, SEDIMENTARY, and METAMORPHIC ROCK.
GNEOUS rock is any rock that is formed by magma and lava. Most igneous are made of mineral crystals. The characteristics to identify an igneous rock are their origin, texture, and mineral composition. Extrusive rock is igneous rock formed from lava that erupted on to earth's surface. Intrusive rock is igneous rock that formed when magma harden's beneath earths surface. Basalt is the most common extrusive rock. Granite is the most abundant intrusive rock in continental crust.
