~The Rock Cycle~
Hi, our name is JAS. On our page we will be talking about The Rock Cycle.
This is the Rock Cycle, these are how some of the rocks form. The rocks on the picture are Igneous rocks, Sedimentary rocks, Metamorphic rocks.
This is how Igneous rocks form.First, the magma deep within the Earth becomes trapped in small pockets and as these pockets of magma slowly start to cool they become igneous rocks. The rocks form when a volcanic eruption happen.
This picture shows how Sedimentary rocks form. Sedimentary rocks form from about three-quarters of the rocks at the Earth's surface. They form at the surface in environments such as beaches, rivers, the ocean, and anywhere that sand, mud, and other types of sediment collect.
The Metamorphic rock was once Igneous and Sedimentary rocks. The rocks are under tons and tons of pressure which builds up the heat, this is how it makes the rock change into Metamorphic rock.
In this picture you see fine-grained texture. This rock is formed by magma,it is formed when the magma flows outside the Earth surface. This rock can also be called extrusive rock too!
This is Coarse grained. Coarse grained Igneous rocks have individual grains (crystals) that are visible to the naked eye.
This is Sediment. Sediment is formed when small, parts of matter fall out of
their main material - for example, if you have muddy water, the small particles
of earth (sand, humus, debris) will settle out and fall to the lowest level of
the water.

Compaction & Cementation-The processes by which sediments are changed into rock are complex, but can be simplified into two processes, called compaction and cementation.
Clastic Rock-a rock composed of broken pieces of older rocks
Organic Rock-It is a rock derived from organic process, such as coal.
Chemical Rock-They are sedimentary rocks are those rocks that are deposited from aqueous solutions and precipitation which may be caused by chemical or biochemical processes.
