ADVENTURE THROUGH THE ROCK CYCLE! :o :D
This is a diagram of the Rock Cycle
http://www.geolsoc.org.uk/ks3/gsl/education/resources/rockcycle.html
The starting point of your adventure through the rock cycle begins with you as magma... through this cycle you will learn what it is like to be a rock. From we
ather and erosion to heat and pressure. Let's start our magical adventure through the rock cycle. POOFIE! we are magma. XD

IGNEOUS ROCK!!!
Now you have erupted and have cooled, the magma has crystallized, and are igneous rock. There are many other types of igneous rock such as: granite, basalt, and obsidian. Igneous rocks are classified by many characteristics such as texture, origin, and mineral composition. The origin is based on where they were formed. Igneous rocks can be a extrusive rock, which is a igneous rock that forms from lava that erupted onto Earth's surface or a intrusive rock, which is created when magma hardens beneath the surface of Earth. Also, they can have fine-grained, coarse-grained, glassy, or porphyritic texture. Finally, the mineral composition of igneous rocks depends on the silica content of the magma or lava that affects how easily they flow. For example, lava that is low in silica becomes dark-colored rocks like basalt and magma high in silica forms light-colored rocks such as granite. Be the rock, and let's continue with our journey.
SEDIMENTARY ROCKS!!
From igneous rock we have weathered at the surface, eroted and been transported. Next we were deposited as sediment, got buried and have been through the processes of compaction and cementation. Now we are sedimentary rock! 3 main groups of sedimentary rocks are: Clastic rocks, Organic rocks, and Chemical rocks. One example of Clastic rocks is: shale. An example of Organic rock is: coal. An example of Chemical rocks is: rock salt. Now we will enter the 3rd stage of our awesome Rock Cycle adventure.
METAMORPHIC ROCK!!
To become a metamorphic rock we have to be deformed then compacted by heat and pressure to change your weight, size, shape, mass, and texture. Now you have been changed into metamorphic rock! Any rock can be transformed into metamorphic rock. Metamorphic rocks are classified by the arrangement of the grains that make up the rock <;3

GLOSSARY
Cementation~ The process where dissolved minerals crystallize and are glued together with particles of sediment into one mass.
Chemical Rock~ A type of sedimentary rock that forms when minerals crystallize from a solution.
Clastic Rock~ A type of sedimentary rock that forms when rock fragments are squeezed together under alot of pressure.
Coarse-Grained~ Rocks made from magma that has cooled slowly, that contains large crystals.
Compaction~ The process when sediments squeeze together under their own weight.
Fine-Grained~ Rocks made from magma that has cooled quickly, that contains small crystals.
Igneous Rocks~ A kind of rock that created by the cooling of molten rock. It could be created below OR above the surface.
Metamorphic Rocks~ A type of rock made when another rock is changed by heat and pressure or chemical reactions.
Organic Rock~ Sedimentary rocks that is created when the leftovers of organisms are placed in thick layers.
Rock Cycle~ A chain of events on or below the surface that slowly forms rock into many different shapes and sizes.
Sediment~ Small, solid pieces of material that comes from rock or organisms.
Sedimentary Rocks~ A type of rock that is created when particals from other rocks, or plants and animals are pressed and glued together.
Texture~ The look and feel of a rock's surface
